As Past President of AIA-Puerto Rico in 1997, Iris brings not only leadership and order to the organization, but a thoroughly understanding of the architecture and construction business. During her career she has traveled and study cities in USA, Spain, Italy and Mexico, absorbing the elements that makes architectural work in their environment and applying those principles into current needs.

Iris possesses a Master Degree in Architecture and was recognized after graduation with the Medal from the Puerto Rico Architects Association, and the Merit Certificate in the Study of Architecture from the American Institute of Architects. She has also recceived many other recognitions for her valuable contribution to the field. Her professional designs and labor as a Member of the AIA, PR Chapter Board, has been featured in several magazines and industry publications, including the AIA-Florida Official Journal, "Florida/Caribbean Architect", and "Ambiente y Color" magazine.
